PhD Fellowship Program Requirements
Mercatus Center PhD Fellows are required to:
- maintain a 3.3 G.P.A.
- maintain good academic standing, including no unsatisfactory grades
- enroll in 9 credits each semester
- actively participate in the Mercatus School Readings Group
- spend approximately 20 hours each week working with Mercatus Center staff and faculty mentors throughout the year
- submit an activities report along with a current bio and CV to Academic and Student Programs each quarter and as requested
Mercatus Center PhD Fellows are expected to:
- participate in Mercatus Center Academic and Student Programs colloquia, workshops and seminars
- (beginning in their second year) present quality original research at professional academic conferences
- (beginning in their third year) submit quality original research to professional academic journals
Mercatus Center PhD Fellows are encouraged to:
- build relationships with Mercatus Center Academic and Student Programs Visiting Scholars
- build relationships with Mercatus Center scholars and members of our faculty network
- attend Mercatus Center brown bags and occasional lectures
Mercatus Center PhD Fellows are prohibited from:
- accepting outside work or receiving outside funding without prior written approval from Academic and Student Programs. This policy includes but is not limited to additional fellowships/assistantships, travel grants, and conventional paid employment
