Yiyang Zhuge is a PhD student in political theory at Boston College. Her research interests include early modern theories of progress and new conceptions of the relationship between the individual and the state arising in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, specifically, the origin of democratic political representation that allows individuals to be represented as artificial persons in the political system. Yiyang earned a BA in political science from Boston College.
