Tyler Callaway

PhD Student, New York University

Tyler Callaway is a PhD student in history at New York University. His current research focuses on the debates within the Austro-Hungarian Empire over the economic and political benefits and disadvantages of tariffs and a single customs union between Austrian and Hungary, and the relationship between these debates and concurrent discussions about colonial acquisition in Africa, Asia, and South America. He holds an MA in Russian, Eurasian, and East European studies from Columbia University, an MPhil in modern European history from Cambridge University, and a BA in history and government from California State University, Northridge. Tyler was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2016-2017 academic year.
