Sarath Pillai is a PhD candidate in history at the University of Chicago. His research interests include the history of liberalism, conservatism, federalism, and constitutionalism in late colonial India, as well as Indo-European and Indo-American entanglements in the first half of the twentieth century. Sarath earned an MSL from Yale University, an MA in history from the University of Chicago, an MA in South Asian history from the University of Delhi and a BA in history from Madras Christian College.
