Sara Pilgreen is an adjunct lecturer at the Columbia School of Social Work and PhD student in social welfare at the University of California, Los Angeles. Formerly, she was a graduate student researcher at the Center for Civil Society. She was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2013-2014 academic year. She earned an MSW from the University of California, Los Angeles, an MA in psychology in education from Columbia University, and a BA magna cum laude in psychology and communication from the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
