Santiago Cunial is a PhD student in political science at the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include comparative politics and political economy. His dissertation project analyzes under what conditions governments in Latin America decide to go through energy transitions from dirty fuels to low carbon and renewable energies. Santiago earned an MA in political science from Torcuato di Tella University and a BA in political science from the University of Buenos Aires. He was a Mercatus Center Don Lavoie Fellow during the spring 2021 semester.
