Robert Burton is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for the Study of Liberal Democracy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests include the First Amendment, religion and law, and theories of conscience in the history of political philosophy. Burton earned a PhD and an MA in political science from the University of Notre Dame and a BA in English and politics from Southern Virginia University.
