Paweł Charasz is a PhD candidate in political science at Duke University. His research interests include the effects of institutions on long term political and economic development, with a particular emphasis on the role of city charters in medieval and early modern Europe in fostering rule of law. Paweł earned an AM in economics from Duke University, an MSc in international political economy from Nanyang Technological University and a BSc in economics from Tilburg University.
