Matthew Schaffer

Matthew Schaffer is an assistant professor of economics at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. He earned his PhD in economics at Michigan State University. His research interests include the economic analysis of corruption. He is particularly interested in examining public corruption's effect on economic outcomes under varying institutional arrangements. He was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2015-2016 academic year. Matthew earned an MA and a BS in economics from Central Michigan University.
