Matthew (Matt) Lowenstein

Matt Lowenstein is a PhD student in history at the University of Chicago. His research interests include the economic history of the Chinese Republic (1912-1949), especially the study of provincial level monetary policy and economic development in Yunnan and Sichuan provinces. Matt earned an MBA from Columbia University and a BA in history from Cornell University. He was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2018-2019 academic year.
