Maryam Salihu is a PhD student in public policy at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Her research interests focus on increasing labor force participation, formal employment, and total earned wages for women in sub-Saharan Africa. Maryam earned an MA in economics from Georgia State University, and a BS in economics from the University of Wisconsin - Superior. She was a Mercatus Center Don Lavoie fellow during the spring 2021 semester.
