Marcus Golding is a PhD student in history at The University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include the cultural influences U.S. foreign capital had over ideas of national development and modernity in the Venezuelan oil industry between 1939 and 1975. Marcus earned an MA in Latin American studies from Georgetown University and a BA in liberal arts from Metropolitan University. He was a Mercatus Center Don Lavoie Fellow during the spring 2021 semester.
