Marcus Golding is a PhD student in history at The University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include the networks of social investments and domestic alliances that US oil capital cultivated in Venezuela between 1939 and 1975 to perpetuate foreign control of local petroleum and neutralize economic nationalism in the country. Marcus earned an MA in Latin American studies from Georgetown University and a BA in liberal arts from Metropolitan University in Caracas, Venezuela.
