Manuel Bautista Gonzalez

Manuel Bautista Gonzalez is a PhD candidate in United States history at Columbia University. His research interests include explaining why Mexico and the United States have had different levels of economic development and the role of the evolution of their financial and monetary systems in influencing their long-term process of economic growth and nation-state building. Manuel earned an MPhil in history from Columbia University and a BA in economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2018-2019 academic year.
