Lorraine Simonis is currently a law clerk for Chief Judge Lavenski R. Smith. She was formerly a JD student in law at the University of Virginia. She earned her BA in German language and medieval & renaissance studies from Washington & Lee University. Lorraine is on the editorial board of the Virginia Tax Review. Her research interests include constitutional political economy, law and economics, state and local policy, and international trade. Lorraine was a Mercatus Center Frédéric Bastiat fellow.
