Kristina Hermann

Assistant Professor, California State University-Long Beach

Kristina Hermann is an assistant professor in the School of Social Work at California State University-Long Beach. She earned her PhD in social welfare at the University of California, Los Angeles where is also a principal investigator for a research project on migration and reunification in the department of social welfare. She was also a graduate student research assistant in the UCLA California Center for Population Research and GIS Spatial Analysis LAB. Kristina was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2014-2015 academic year. Her research interests focus on poverty, migration, and separation of immigrant parents and their children.  Kristina earned her master’s degree in social work from San Francisco State University and earned her BA in sociology from Saint Mary’s College of California.
