Kirstin Anderson Birkhaug is a PhD student in political science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research interests lie in modern and ancient political thought, specifically with regards to community and local political structures, as well as American political thought and institutions. Her dissertation focuses on the role of feminine political thought in the American Founding period. She is currently a graduate fellow for the Center for the Study of Liberal Democracy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Kirstin earned a BA in political science and business from Hope College. She was a Mercatus Center Don Lavoie fellow during the spring 2021 semester.
