Jose Morales-Arilla is a PhD student in public policy at Harvard University. His research interests include the institutional intersection between politics and development economics, and in particular, how the Mexican drug war affected exports, the effect of NAFTA-induced economic gains on the support of protectionism in Mexico, the role of post-civil war repression in Catalan Nationalism, and how community-organized soup kitchens affect political preferences in Venezuela. Jose earned an MPA in international development from Harvard University and a BA in economics from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.
