Joseph Porter is a PhD student in philosophy at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. His research interests include the conditions of political stability and their implications for political philosophy, especially within the liberal tradition, focusing on questions of power, ideology, and legitimacy and what they have to teach us about the resilience of different political and economic institutions. Joseph earned an MTS in New Testament & early Christianity and an AB in philosophy from Harvard University. He was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith Fellow during the 2019-2020 academic year.
