Jason Byas is a PhD student in philosophy at the University of Michigan. His research interests include rights theory, punishment (and its alternatives), and moral repair, along with other topics in ethics, political philosophy and philosophy of law. Jason earned an MA in philosophy at Georgia State University, and a BA in philosophy and sociology from the University of Oklahoma. He was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 academic years.
