Jan Vogler is a PhD student in political science at Duke University. His research covers a wide range of topics, including the organization of public bureaucracies, various forms of political and economic competition (in domestic and international settings), the legacies of imperial rule, and structures and perceptions of the European Union. Jan earned an MS in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in political science from the Free University of Berlin. He was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2016-2017, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic years.
