James Heilman

James Heilman is a PhD student in political science at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His research examines private authority in the international economy, especially as it relates to the development of industry standards, private governance regimes, and corporate social responsibility. James earned an MA in political science from the University of British Columbia and a BA in international relations and philosophy from American University. James was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2015-2016 and 2017-2018 academic years.
