Jaime Carini

Jaime Carini is pursuing a PhD in Musicology and a DM in Organ Performance and Literature at the Indiana University Bloomington. She earned an MM in Musicology and an MM in Organ Performance from the University of Oklahoma, and a BM in Piano Performance & Music Theory from the University of Tulsa. She was an Adam Smith Fellow during the 2017-2018, 2019-2020, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023 academic years, a Frédéric Bastiat Fellow during the 2018-2019 academic year, and a Don Lavoie Fellow during the 2020-2021 academic year. Her research interests include cultural economics, music, and political economy, in particular music copyright and music ownership. Her dissertation investigates twenty-first-century responses to a collection in the cultural commons/public domain.
