Geoffrey Lea

Assistant Professor of Economics, Hampden-Sydney College

Geoffrey Lea is an assistant professor of economics at Hampden-Sydney College. Previously, he was the Managing Director of the Center for Free Enterprise at West Virginia University. He earned his PhD from George Mason University in 2011 and was a Mercatus Center PhD Fellow. Prior to joining West Virginia University, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics and Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Illinois at Springfield. His research interests are Austrian economics, constitutional political economy, the history of economics thought, business cycle theory, and the political economy of the ancient world.
