Emilia Simison is a PhD student in political science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research interests include better understanding how different political institutions affect economic decisions and outcomes, particularly how institutions in authoritarian regimes shape the extent to which citizens and interest groups influence policy making. Her dissertation builds on these interests to explore the relationship between changes in regime type and policy-making to better understand how, and under which conditions, policy change takes place following regime transitions. Emilia earned an MA in political science from Torcuato di Tella University and a BA in political science from the University of Buenos Aires.
