Diego Guerrero Medina

Diego Guerrero is a PhD student in Economics at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He earned an MS in Applied Economics from St. Cloud State Universty and a BA in Liberal Arts from Metropolitan University. He was an Adam Smith Fellow during the 2021-2022, and 2022-2023 academic years, and a Don Lavoie Fellow during the 2020-2021 academic year. His research interests include the economics of two federal programs in households, businesses, and law enforcement. In particular, his dissertation evaluates the intergenerational effects and labor demand-side effects of conditional cash transfers (Earned Income Tax Credit), and studies the statistical association between federal grants to militarize law enforcement and police reports of civilians killed by officers.
