David Attali is a PhD student in history at Johns Hopkins University. His research interests include the renewed interest in French liberal thinkers following World War II, and particularly how decolonization informed metropolitan readings of Alexis de Tocqueville as a philosopher of liberal democracy. David earned an MA in modern European history from Johns Hopkins University and a BA in history and English from Hunter College, City University of New York.
