Danilo Freire

Postdoctoral Fellow, Political Theory Project at Brown University

Danilo Freire is a postdoctoral fellow at the Political Theory Project at Brown University. He earned his PhD in political economy at King’s College London. His research interests draws from the different schools of public choice theory and focuses on Latin American prison gangs create, promote, and enforce social order within and beyond the penal system. He holds an MA in international relations from The Graduate Institute Geneva, an MA in political science from the University of Sao Paulo, and a BA in social sciences from the University of Sao Paulo. Danilo was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 academic years.
