Casey Homan is a PhD student in sociology at the University of California, Berkeley. His research interests include the intersection of markets, religion, and organizations, especially competition among religious congregations and other voluntary organizations in the Manhattan borough of New York City from 1939 to 2000. Casey earned a BS in Japanese from Georgetown University. He was a Mercatus Center Oskar Morgenstern Fellow during the 2018-2019 academic year, an Adam Smith Fellow during the 2019-2020 academic year, and a Don Lavoie Fellow during the 2020-2021 academic year.
