Carlos Noyola Contreras is a PhD student in the department of romance languages and literatures at the University of Notre Dame. Carlos earned a BA in economics from ITAM, Mexico City and his MSc in economics from the University of Bristol. He is a columnist at El Universal, Mexico's most important newspaper.  His research interests include applied microeconomics, macroeconomics, Austrian economics, education policy, international development, and monetary policy. He was a Mercatus Center Frédéric Bastiat fellow during the 2019-2020 academic year.
