Benjamin Laughlin

Benjamin Laughlin is a PhD student in political science at the University of Rochester. His fields of interest include comparative politics, international relations, ethnic politics, civil conflict and political violence, and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. His research currently focuses on refugees and ethnic politics in Eastern Europe, with specific focus on the causes and consequences of refugees both in the short and long-term. He holds an MA in political science from the University of Rochester and a BA in political science and economics from the University of Washington. Benjamin was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith fellow during the 2016-2017 academic year.
