Andrew Lichter is a PhD student in philosophy at the University of Arizona. His research interests include the viability of moral theories that emphasize our fundamental interest in being intelligible and accountable to others, personal and political autonomy in the liberal state, the interplay between principled and pragmatic justifications for the foundational ideas of liberalism, and the capacity of institutions to foster characteristically interpersonal modes of engagment. Andrew earned an MA in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BA in philosophy from Tulane University.
