Anastasiia Vlasenko is a PhD student in political science at Florida State University. Her research interests include authoritarian politics and democratization, focusing on the politics of Ukraine and Russia. She is particularly interested in rent seeking, collective action, transitional period reforms, propaganda, legislative politics, and elections. Anastasiia earned an MS in European affairs from Lund University, an MA in international relations from New York University, an MA in political science from Florida State University and a BA in political science from the National University of Kyiv-Moyla Academy. She was a Mercatus Center Don Lavoie Fellow during the spring 2021 semester.
