Frank Garmon Jr.

Frank Garmon is a PhD student in history at the University of Virginia and will be teaching at Christopher Newport University beginning fall 2016. His research addresses the question of how state governments dealt with the vast debts incurred during the Revolution, and emphasizes these policies’ implications for economic growth by tracing changes in wealth levels and wealth distribution over the course of the early republic. Frank was a Mercatus Center Adam Smith Fellow during the 2014-2015, 2015-2016, and 2016-2017 academic years. He earned his MA in history from the University of Virginia and earned his BA in history from Christopher Newport University.
